When and how do events get cancelled?
The most common reason events get cancelled is due to inclement weather. Examples of past cancelations have been thunderstorms and high winds forecasted during an overnight camp out, possible snow/freezing rain during a Pack meeting, and rain forecasted during a group bicycle hike.
We do our best to send out a heads up via email if we are monitoring the weather for an upcoming event. If the leadership decides to cancel and event, an email will be sent out as well as a message will be posted on our Facebook account. Den leaders may use email and or text message to alert families of cancellations specific to den events.
School was cancelled, do we still have a Cub Scout meeting?
The general rule of thumb is if there is no school or an early dismissal from school, then we will not have an meetings that day. Remember: No School, No Scouts.
If there is a deviation from this rule, specific messages will be emailed, posted to Facebook, or texted. An example of a possible exception would be a den deciding to meet as a group on a school holiday such as President's day.
