• Helps the Cubmaster as needed and is ready to fill in for the Cubmaster, if necessary.
• Participates in Pack Meetings.
• Works with the Pack Committee to develop and promote recruiting of new Cub Scouts.
• Helps with pack activities, such as dinners, derbies, service projects, etc.
• Take part in the annual pack leader retreat and monthly pack leaders' meetings.
• Supports the policies of the Boy Scouts of America.

• Help the den leader as needed.
• Carry out the duties assigned by the den leader.
• Be ready to fill in for the den leader in case of an emergency.
• Help establish a close working relationship with the den leader and den chief, functioning with them as a den leadership team.
• Attend pack meetings and help as needed.
• Work in harmony with other den and pack leaders.
• Take part in the annual pack leader retreat and monthly pack leaders' meetings.
• Supports the policies of the Boy Scouts of America.

• Leads the Blue & Gold Banquet committee.
• Works with the Cubmaster to come up with a vision for the banquet.
• Divides responsibilities for the banquet amongst members of the committee and other volunteers.
• Creates and manages sub-committees to put on the Blue & Gold Banquet.
• Ensures that all aspects of the banquet are taken care of (meal, program, invitations, decorations, entertainment, etc.)

• Develops an annual plan for allowing scouts and their families to give back to their chartered organization, community, nation, and Earth through service projects.
• Report service project activity to BSA's Service Hours Recording website.
• Maintain the Community Service portion of the Pack website.
• Organize a uniform closet for the Pack.
• Take part in the annual pack leader retreat and monthly pack leaders' meetings.
• Supports the policies of the Boy Scouts of America.

• Conduct a pack program according to the policies of the BSA.
• Attend monthly roundtables.
• Plan and help carry out the Cub Scout program in the pack. This includes leading the monthly pack meeting, with the help of other leaders.
• Help the pack committee with a year-round recruitment plan for recruiting new Cub Scouts.
• Know about and use the appropriate and available literature.
• See that the pack program, leaders, and Cub Scouts positively reflect the interests and objectives of the chartered organization and the BSA.
• Work with the pack committee on (1) program ideas, (2) selecting and recruiting adult leaders, and (3) establishing a budget plan.
• Guide and support den leaders. See that they receive the required training for their positions.
• Encourage Webelos to join a Boy Scout troop.
• Help establish & maintain good relationships with Boy Scout troops.
• Maintain good relationships with parents and guardians. Seek their support and include them in activities.
• See that Cub Scouts receive a quality, year-round program filled with fun and activities.
• Guide Cub Scouts in goodwill and conservation projects.
• Help the pack committee chair conduct the annual pack leader retreat and the monthly pack leaders' meetings.
• Work as a team with the pack committee chair to cultivate, educate, and motivate all pack leaders and parents in Cub Scouting.
• Establish plans for the Webelos Scouts' transition to Boy Scouting.
• Conduct impressive Arrow of Light Award ceremonies.
• Encourage high advancement standards from all Cub Scouts.
• Help bring families together at joint activities for Webelos dens (or packs) and Boy Scout troops.
• Support the policies of the Boy Scouts of America.

• Give leadership in carrying out the pack program in the den.
• Lead the den in its participation at pack meetings.
• Work in harmony with other den and pack leaders.
• Help the Cubmaster (or assistant Cubmaster) and pack committee recruit new Cub Scouts throughout the year.
• Use Boys' Life and Scouting magazines, Cub Scout Program Helps, the rank handbooks, and other Cub Scouting literature as sources for program ideas.
• Maintain a friendly relationship with Cub Scouts; encourage them to earn advancement awards. Keep accurate advancement records and see that Cub Scouts receive recognition for their achievements.
• Help establish a close working relationship with the assistant den leader and den chief, functioning as a den leadership team.
• Develop and maintain a good working relationship and open communication with den families. Use their talents to help enrich the den program.
• See that a leader is available for all den meetings and activities. Call on the assistant den leader to fill in when necessary.
• Take part in the annual pack leader retreat and monthly pack leaders' meetings.
• Help set a good example for the Cub Scouts through behavior, attitude, and proper uniforming.
• Support the policies of the Boy Scouts of America.

• Works with Pack Committee Chairman and Cubmaster to determine leadership needs within the pack.
• Helps identify potential volunteers for open leadership positions.
• Actively seeks out individuals for open leadership positions in a positive manner.
• Take part in the annual pack leader retreat and monthly pack leaders' meetings.
• Supports the policies of the Boy Scouts of America.

• Handles all aspects of rechartering the pack including using online system to create reports and securing appropriate signatures.
• Works with the Cubmaster and Pack Committee to develop and carry out a plan for year round membership growth.
• Follows up on dropouts to help return them to full, active membership.
• Maintains the membership database in ScoutTrack as new members join.
• Helps Cubmaster at round ups.
• Makes new members feel comfortable in the pack and helps get their questions answered.
• Works with the Cubmaster, Treasurer, and Popcorn Chairperson to ensure that popcorn has been sold or opt-out money has been paid by re-charter.
• Take part in the annual pack leader retreat and monthly pack leaders' meetings.
• Supports the policies of the Boy Scouts of America.

• Works with the Cubmaster and Pack Committee to plan outings and overnight trips for the Pack.
• Handles all RSVPs for Pack outings and collects money for the trips
• Works with the Treasurer to ensure payment to appropriate parties.
• Provides information packets to Pack about upcoming trips.
• Organizes the purchase of food items for the trip.
• Handles any necessary paperwork (tour permits, etc) that are required for the trip.
• Maintains Pack's equipment used for outings and recommends replacement or new purchases to the Pack Committee.
• Take part in the annual pack leader retreat and monthly pack leaders' meetings.
• Supports the policies of the Boy Scouts of America.

• Maintain a close relationship with the chartered organization representative, keeping this key person informed of the needs of the pack that must be brought to the attention of the organization or the district.
• Confer with the Cubmaster on policy matters relating to Cub Scouting and the chartered organization.
• Supervise pack committee operation by

1. Calling and presiding at pack leaders' meetings.
2. Assigning duties to committee members.
3. Planning for pack charter review, roundup, and re-registration.
4. Approving bills before payment by the pack treasurer.

• Conduct the annual pack leader retreat and pack leaders' meetings.
• Ask the committee to assist with recommendations for vacant leadership positions as needed.
• Recognize the need for more dens, and see that new dens are formed as needed.
• Work with the chartered organization representative to provide adequate and safe facilities for pack meetings.
• Cooperate with the Cubmaster on money-earning projects so the pack can earn money for materials and equipment.
• Manage finances through adequate financial records.
• Maintain adequate pack records and take care of pack property.
• If the Cubmaster is unable to serve, assume active direction of the pack until a successor is recruited and registered.
• Provide a training program for adult family members.
• Support the policies of the BSA.

The Pack Committee as a whole is responsible for the following. A member of the pack committee helps in these responsibilities.

• Makes recommendations for pack leadership.
• Coordinates the pack's program.
• Helps stimulate the interst of adult family members through proper programming.
• Supervises finances and equipment.
• Works closely with the Cubmaster.
• Ensures that all scouts receive a year-round, quality program.
• Determines policies for the pack.
• Take part in the annual pack leader retreat and monthly pack leaders' meetings.
• Supports the policies of the Boy Scouts of America.

• Help conduct New Parents Meetings.
• Ensure each new leader and pack committee member is trained for his or her specific position.
• Encouraging pack leaders to attend ongoing training, such as roundtable, pow wow or University of Scouting, outdoor training, Youth Protection training, and Wood Badge.
• Remaining current with training material and program updates.
• Keeping track of pack training records.
• Take part in the annual pack leader retreat and monthly pack leaders' meetings.
• Supports the policies of the Boy Scouts of America.

• Work with the Pack Committee to formulate official rules for the Pinewood Derby.
• Help recruit and organize volunteers for the Pinewood Derby.
• Conduct a Pinewood Derby workshop for scouts and their families that gives them access to tools and expertise required to build a quality car.
• Maintain the Pack's track and electronic scoring device.
• Order trophies, awards, and patches for the derby.
• Coordinate the setup of the room for the derby including the check-in table, track, scoring table, grandstands, and pit area.
• Bring all necessary materials to run a quality derby on the day of the derby.
• Serve as the Race official during the race.

• Attends annual District Popcorn Kickoff.
• Helps Cubmaster plan and execute the Pack Popcorn Kickoff.
• Orders Show & Sell Popcorn for the Pack and coordinates delivery to scout families.
• Orders Take Order Popcorn for the pack and organizes the delivery and distribution of popcorn to the scout families.
• Collects money for popcorn sales and keeps up with each scout's sale amount and payment status.
• Works with the Cubmaster, Membership Chairperson, and Treasurer to ensure that popcorn has been sold or opt-out money has been paid by re-charter.
• Works with the district popcorn chairperson to handle any popcorn sale issues that may arise.
• Helps coordinate with the treasurer any store sales scout families or dens wish to participate in.
• Secures a safe storage facility for popcorn during the sale.

• Stimulates pack service projects within Auburn United Methodist Church, Wrights Mill Road Elementary, and the Auburn area.
• Promotes family participation in all pack events, such as Blue & Gold Banquet, campouts, and Pack 29 Survivor.
• Circulates recruiting fliers and leaflets to invite new youth to join.
• Works with the Pack Committee to promote new membership.
• Makes use of the news media in publicizing pack events.
• Works with Auburn United Methodist Church to get information in the bulletin, newsletters, and magazine.
• Potentially maintains the pack website.
• Potentially publishes pack newsletters.
• Take part in the annual pack leader retreat and monthly pack leaders' meetings.
• Supports the policies of the Boy Scouts of America.

• Keeps notes on business conducted at pack leaders' meetings.
• Keeps records that are useful for the history of the Pack.
• Maintains the Pack library.
• Helps new den leaders by telling them what resources are available.
• Take part in the annual pack leader retreat and monthly pack leaders' meetings.
• Supports the policies of the Boy Scouts of America.

• With the help of the Committee and Cubmaster, establish an annual budget that supports a sound financial program for the pack.
• Maintain a bank account in the pack’s name and ensure a minimum of 2 other active Pack Leaders are signatures on the account.
• Approve all budget expenditures, with the help of the Pack Committee Chairperson. Check all disbursements against budget allowances, and pay bills by check.
• Keep up-to-date financial records. Enter all income and expenditures under the proper budget category in the finance record.
• Reconcile the bank statement with the financial record on a monthly basis.
• Provide financial documents to the Pack Committee Chair or Cubmaster when requested.
• Make regular monthly reports to the Committee on the pack’s financial condition at the pack leaders’ meeting.
• Works with the Cubmaster, Membership Chairperson, and Popcorn Chairperson to ensure that popcorn has been sold or opt-out money has been paid by re-charter.
• Accept payments from scout families for money owed for trips, etc.
• Take part in the annual pack leader retreat.
• Supports the policies of the Boy Scouts of America.

• Maintain the Pack website.
• Work with the Public Relations Chairperson to promote the website on the internet through social networking sites, such as Facebook or Twitter.
• Ensure e-mail addresses for Pack Leadership are current and accurate.
• Promote use of the website the Pack leadership and scout families so that it can be used as an access tool.
• Take part in the annual pack leader retreat.
